news from me

24 November 2008:
My Wordpress Blog | Sitemap is now fully functional.

From now on, I will post all updates about my business and the projects I am working on only on my Blog | Sitemap.

My blog posts will be organised in different categories so it's easier to filter down to just the topics you're interested in.

27 October 2008:
For better visibility in the Asian business market, particularly Singapore, I have just launched another website with a Singapore domain name. The Singapore Web Copywriter website has four pages of unique content but all the pages in the 'my services' menu link straight to this website. After all, I offer exactly the same SEO web copywriting services to my clients everywhere.

13 October 2008:
I've managed to put a blog on this domain, but I haven't succeeded yet in integrating it better with this website. So it lives in the right place, but doesn't have the right look and feel yet. However, here's a link to my Content Writer Blog | Sitemap (it will open in a new window for now so you can get back here easily). When I can find some time, I'll work on better integration, I promise!

7 October 2008:
Check out a couple of things I've done recently: I've written a whole new Nature-based Tourism section for the Coffs Coast website, suggesting things to do & see on the Coffs Coast for nature lovers. For the same site, I've also rewritten all the pages about Coffs Coast's National Parks. Researching and writing this has reminded me what a beautiful piece of the earth I'm lucky enough to live in! Another interesting project I completed a few weeks ago is writing new SEO content for the website of a Chinese company called Busycode (Flex developers). I'm currently looking into putting a WordPress blog on my website so I can post news and articles in a more organised way. So keep posted, it shouldn't be long now!

12 September 2008:
It's been a month since my launch, so here's a little update on how things are going... they're going great! I've been keeping busy with various copywriting jobs and doing on-site SEO for a couple of websites. One of them is Perfect Entertainment, a group of DJs for weddings and events in Newcastle and the Hunter. We also revamped their website with a new design. I wrote and edited copy for a new 100+ page compendium for Coffs Coast Conferences, to be published soon, which aims to attract conferences and business tourism to beautiful Coffs Harbour. I will also soon start work on a website for Park Beach Physiotherapy who provide physiotherapy and Pilates in Coffs Harbour. And yes, I am linking keywords in here, which is an accepted SEO technique...!

I'll be adding excerpts of recent news stories and blog entries - related to the Internet, web site content, SEO and writing - that I come across and find relevant & interesting, with a link to the full story if you want to read it.

Web users 'getting more ruthless'
"Web users are getting more ruthless and selfish when they go online, reveals research.

The annual report into web habits by usability guru Jakob Nielsen shows people are becoming much less patient when they go online.

Instead of dawdling on websites many users want simply to reach a site quickly, complete a task and leave..."

Writing for the web
Writing for websites is entirely different to writing for print. In this short article, I've set out a couple of things to keep in mind when writing for the web:
